International Association for the Future STEM Workforce together with Udon Thani Rajabhat University and Concent Edu organized a training activity for lecturers in a collaborative project to create Thai children good at mathematics with STEAM Creative Math Competition using the board game Battle of the Numbers and got Received support from the Korea Foundation for the Advancement Science & Creativity (KOFAC) and the Teed Foundation for Education on 6 – 7 May 2024 at the conference room on the 2nd floor, Building 17. Udon Thani Rajabhat University
It was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanisara Thansunthornsakul, Rector, to preside over the opening ceremony of the project. In this connection, the IAFSW Association, represented by Dr. Phonphan Vaithayakun, President of the IAFSW Association, Ms. Suwanee Khamman, Honorary Advisor to the IAFSW Association Executive Board for Science, Research and Innovation, Ajarn Parichat Puangmanee, Executive Director of the IAFSW Association, and Concent Edu by Mr. . JU DONG UCK (Mr. JERRY) CEO, inventor and developer of board games from South Korea. The Battle of the Numbers board game was given to Udon Thani Rajabhat University for use in organizing training and board game competitions.
The objective of this activity is to enhance learning through media. Develop mathematical abilities through gamification, stimulating and motivating. Make students participate in learning develop computational skills Create a thought process from practice including critical thinking skills analytical thinking skills Problem solving skills Able to plan and create strategies in the competition game including communication skills leadership skills and decision-making skills It is important in dealing with a rapidly changing world. Today’s activity was organized by teachers, professors, students, and students. A total of 160 people participated in the training, consisting of:
- Teachers in the area of Udon Thani province, 9 schools, including Udon Thani Rajabhat University Demonstration School, Udon Thani Kindergarten School, Ban Mak Khaeng School, St. Mary’s School, Udon Pittayanukul School, Namsom Pittayakhom School, Ban Nong Saeng School, Ban Dun Pracharat School and Thesaban 1 Phosri School, 31 people
- Professors at Udon Thani Rajabhat University from 4 faculties, including the Faculty of Education Faculty of Science, Faculty of Technology and School of General Education, 32 people
- Mathematics major students Udon Thani Rajabhat University, 40 people
- and primary and secondary school students from 4 schools, namely Thesaban 1 Phosri School, Ban Nong Saeng School, Udon Pittayanukul School, and Udon Thani Rajabhat University Demonstration School, totaling 57 people.
