On January 21, 2025, the Association for the Promotion and Development of STEM Workforce for the Future (IAFSW), led by President Suwannee Kamman and Vice President Jintana Pharraksamani, met with Mr. Yospol Weanugoset, Secretary-General of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), at the OVEC Reception Room, Ministry of Education.
The meeting was attended by senior executives of OVEC, including Dr. Thanapat Saengchan, Director of the Bureau of Cooperation; Dr. Surapong Emutai, Director of the Bureau of Vocational Education Standards and Professions; and Dr. Siriphan Chumnum, Advisor to the Office of the Vocational Education Commission and Honorary Advisor to IAFSW, along with their respective teams.
The two organizations discussed key issues regarding the development of the STEM workforce and sustainable environment. The focus was on driving projects in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) they had signed, and planning collaboration to develop skills that align with the needs of businesses.
Skill development will be promoted through diverse learning media and activities, such as board games, camps, and an online learning management system (LMS) to enhance active learning. This also includes linking with business networks ready to accept students for employment, thereby creating clear career opportunities and pathways for vocational education students and personnel.
This meeting marks an important step in integrating cooperation between government agencies and civil society to develop a high-competency workforce ready to drive sustainable development and enhance the country’s future competitiveness.
